CIHR Summer Project Grant Writing Workshop Session 2: How to Think Like a Reviewer: A CIHR Project Grant Hands-On Workshop – Jul. 31, 2024

The Arts & Science Office of Research Services is pleased to announce the return of the CIHR Summer Project Grant Writing Workshops. All eligible Principal Investigators having a primary budgetary appointment at the University of Toronto who are applying to orconsidering the CIHR Project Grant competition (Fall 2024 or a future round) are invited to participate. Divisional administrative staff supporting this competitionare also welcome to join the sessions.

Session 2 will be of interest to faculty members who are revising and resubmitting a CIHR Project Grant application, or who would like to learn more about the review process. This session will focus on the revisionprocess and preparing your response to reviewers. Participants will be asked to review a mock Project Grant Complete Summary provided ahead of time, for discussion during the session.

The workshops will be led by Professor JenniferMitchell, Associate Chair, Research, in the Department of Cell & Systems Biology, Faculty of Arts & Science. In session 2, Prof. Mitchellwill be joined by guest presenter Professor Tania Watts, Department of Immunology, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, who is the University of Toronto's CIHR Institutional Delegate, and holds the Canada Research Chair in Anti-viral immunity. Professors Mitchell and Watts are multiple CIHR funding recipients and CIHR Peer Review Committee members.

Faculty members are encouraged to sign up for one or both summer workshop sessions in this series. Session 1 (separate registration required) will focus on:
